Episode 6: Overview of Sexuality with People with Disabilities


Description: This presentation will provide viewers with an overview of the intersection of sexuality and disability as it relates to clinical care. Throughout the presentation, viewers will learn strategies for responding to sexual behavior, addressing sexual behavior within a clinical setting, and discussing sexuality and sexual behavior with parents and caregivers.

Dr. Hinman is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over six years of experience working with autistic persons and those with other developmental disabilities. As a BCBA and researcher, her work primarily focuses on clinical behavior analytic services including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based interventions to promote empowerment and independence in the clients she serves. Additionally, Jessica’s research interests include investigating, understanding, and providing intervention related to social justice topics, such as racism, climate change, sexism, and sexual violence, from a contextual behavioral perspective.
