PEAK Level 2 Objectives

Participants will describe the rationale for the PEAK Comprehensive Assessment (PCA) as a standardized tool and identify correct and incorrect administration procedures when presented with sample administration scenarios.

Participants will identify and differentiate the five subtests of the PCA, including associated learning modalities and decision rules for continuing or discontinuing administration, using scenario-based examples.

Participants will interpret results from the PEAK Challenging Behavior Observation and Autism Severity Scales when provided with sample data and determine appropriate implications for assessment and treatment planning.

Participants will evaluate sample insurance authorization requests and individualized education plan (IEP) excerpts to identify accurate and effective integration of PEAK assessment data and treatment recommendations.

Participants will analyze sample PCA data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and deviations from normative expectations and select appropriate treatment priorities based on the data provided.

Participants will compare PEAK with other ABA assessment and treatment tools and determine how to align non-PEAK goals and interventions with PEAK programming when presented with sample assessments and treatment plans.

Participants will analyze sample teaching scenarios involving Direct Training (DT) and Generalization (G) programs and identify effective instructional strategies and appropriate next steps.

Participants will analyze sample teaching scenarios involving Equivalence (E) and Transformation (T) programs and select appropriate instructional strategies to promote relational responding.

Participants will interpret summaries of current PEAK research to identify strengths, limitations, and clinical implications when presented with excerpts or summaries of the literature.

Participants will evaluate teaching scenarios to determine when remediation strategies (e.g., multiple exemplar training, isolated class review, stimulus modifications) are needed and select the most appropriate intervention approach.

Participants will interpret reassessment data and scenarios to determine appropriate use of PCA re-administration for progress monitoring, treatment modification, and reauthorization purposes.

Participants will identify the relationship between PEAK and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and determine how PEAK programming can support the development of ACT-related repertoires through applied examples.
